An Artist’s Sorry…
The 26th of February was Scott’s birthday. I wanted to get him something memorable seeing as how this was the first birthday I had spent with him since we had been together. I searches, I hunted, I look everywhere for something that would at least make sense getting him, and I couldn’t find anything. Finally a friend told me where something he would like might be… so I went in search. Sold Out, omg, what was I going to do?! It was the perfect gift and everyone is sold out! It was a t-shirt with Scott’s favorite one liner on it… but no one had it in stock. My mother suggested that I make one online… so I did.$15 for the shirt $24 to ship it express… but it was ok, it was worth it, he would like it, right? Nope, I was so disappointed, not only that but I also felt like I had failed in doing my job. He sat there ‘trying’ to looked thrilled and surprised over the shirt, but I could tell he was disappointed… and that disappointed me.
Since then I have been thinking of ways I could make it up to him, I’ve been trying to think of something that will at least make him smile and say “oh baby, thank you, you are amazing.” I think I found that thing.
So, I went to Dollar General and bought a picture frame, found some sketch paper, sharpened a pencil and set to work. Scott is a huge fan of star wars, HUGE, when I say huge I mean really gigantically big. I had no money, I couldn’t buy anything special, I had to borrow the $4 it took me to buy the picture frame from my grandma (thank you by the way) So the only resources I had left were my hands and the talent God blessed them with… so I drew a picture of Yoda. It was the only thing I could think of to do, Yoda, it was perfect. I began to draw him, at first I couldn’t get him right, I think I wasted about four sheets of paper before I was pleased. But I finally did it, I sat there all night looking at and admiring my work of art, finding it hard to believe that I could draw that well. The finished product was cool, and I had to share it with you, so I scanned it.
Have you ever gotten someone something they didn’t like? How did you make it up to them?

When I found out that they didn’t like it I asked for it back,I loved it ..and I got them a gift certificate!!
He will love it!!!!
Good job… and quick thinking. Scott has probably forgotten his disappointment and will remember the shirt fondly because of the Star Wars connection.
Have a wonderful weekend.

often the gifts made by your own hands are worth more than any store bought gift. Good going…. he is going to love it because it was made with love…
I have to admit I’m not so into Star Wars but I have seen some of the movies.
You draw really good! I wish I could draw that well but I’ve never been the best at drawing. You should see my self portrait. It sucks really badly!
No I have not gotten something for someone that they didn’t like, but I’ve gotten something from my mom that I didn’t like.: When I was in 5th grade maybe, my mom came back from London and she brought with her two presents. One for my sister, and I forgot what that was, and one for me of course. Well when I opened my present which my mom wrapped really well. It had white wrapping paper and red lace. Anyway, when I opened my present there sat a purple, velvet, dress. With a jacket and belt. I picked it up with a bad taste in the back of my mouth, searching for something to say. Finally, I said “thanks!”
My mom looked at me with a faraway look in her eyes. It was as if she was about to break down in tears. After we ate dinner she asked me “you hate it don’t you?” i said “no i love it!” That seemed to please her thankfully.
I still feel a little bad though because I just hate lying so much but I didn’t want to break her heart.

Oh, yeah, and do you mind if I copy your picture to show my friend? She would really love it!
Rachael
(again)
Thank you! She’ll love it!
And can you sign Jessica’s Law petition please? Nobody should have to go through something like that.

Pauline said it, the work, the love you put in a gift is more important then the actual cost. With the shipping cost, your first gift did mean you put effort in getting it, so its a pity Scott wasn’t more thrilled.
I would me thrilled with a mirror you looked in once. :big-smile:
:hammer:
ha ah ha, hammer time.
lovin the drawin, your really good, I suggest you save the scan and get some softawre like photoshop to make it even better. personally I use manga studio debut which is only 40 dollars and is way better.
kewl!
yeah…chuck norris rocks my world… cause yeah…. he just does
Your artwork is always awesome, but you mispoke, this is not a tracing, I know you “freehanded” this. Great job and by the way, congratulations on making #1 on Xanga Front Page with your article about the homeless. You are beautiful in so many ways…and so compassionate. Love, Grandma :bravo: :bravo:  :spinning: :spinning: :celebrate:
^^^I did misspeak…it is freehanded, and I meant sketching paper, not tracing paper. I don’t even own tracing paper!^^^ I’m nuts.
I give a lot of drawings and paintings as gifts.
Once I spent a gazillion dollars on a diamond heart pendant for my sweet lorilily…
When she opened it the pendant had flipped over in the box and she took one look at the back of it and said, “This is nice, Thank you”
I was floored! I said “Nice?” I looked at it and realized it was upside down and told her to turn it over… We laugh about tit everytime she sees an expensive piece of jewelry someplace and I say ” Yeah it’s ”nice’”
Oh yes and Yoda looks simply marvelous!
 Amazing!! Great, great drawing.
In honor of the man’s birthday, here are my favorite facts:
Superman owns a pair of Chuck Norris pajamas
Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one bird.
The last digit of pi is Chuck Norris. He is the end of all things.
Before Chuck Norris was born, the martial arts weapons with two pieces of wood connected by a chain were called NunBarrys. No one ever did find out what happened to Barry.
Chuck Norris puts the “laughter” in “manslaughter”.

Er um we don’t actually laugh about tit…. we laugh about… IT! IT! I meant “it”. It was a typo. I swear!
Good job on the drawing… How did he like it?
yo -duh – yo – duh yo – duh YO – DUH

Saw your earlier post on Xanga’s front page and noticed you mentioned Sinclair. Just wanted to say hi to a somewhat-neighbor, who turns out to be a fellow photographer.
You seem nice.
Be well.
I like your posts. Especially the quotes. This one I REALLY agree with.
